Cleaning Chores: Office, Outdoor, & Miscellaneous

Our office/guest bedroom is cleaned by DD every week. However, every other week I give it a go over just to hit the spots she may not pay that much attention to or can't do on her own. For example, moving all the computer equipment on the desk to duct underneath or moving furniture to vacuum.

Office
  • Thoroughly dust desk, tv shelf, nightstand, cork boards, underneath desk
  • Move furniture & other items on floor to vacuum
  • Put away misplaced items & paperwork

Everyone has those outdoor and miscellaneous chores that have to be done to keep things running smoothly. There are certain things outside that need to be done to keep things neat looking. Also, with animals, there are a few things to take care of to help maintain the animals health. There is also all the paperwork that every house has that needs to be kept on top of. Not to mention odd jobs that don't fit neatly into any one category. So as a reminder to me, I have even written down these type chores.

Outdoor
  • Sweep front porch, side porch, deck, stairs
  • Straighten up & sweep garden shed
  • Biweekly- Clean animals' bowls
  • Biweekly- Clean litter boxes, fluff chicken litter

Miscellaneous
  • Make out menu & grocery list
  • Clip coupons & file them
  • Take care of paperwork (file papers, fill out calendars, record receipts, etc.)
  • Straighten up desk, put away misplaced items
  • Clean out pocket book, book bag (if school is in session.)
  • Wash Oakley's blankets/pillowcases
  • Change sheets on master bed/guest bed - on opposite week change DD's sheets

Writing these types chores down may seem silly to some, but it helps keep me organized. Yet, I always keep in mind to be flexible when it comes to doing them. If my week in overloaded, these are the chores that often get set aside and that is okay.

Living a simply organized life and wouldn't have it any other way!
