Our Simple Home: Our Master Bedroom

Our Master Bedroom is part of a Master suite which is made up of a bedroom, bath, and closet. It is located on the same side of the house as the kitchen. The kitchen is actually behind our bedroom.

The main piece of furniture is a king-size bed made out of white cedar logs. It was made by an Amish furniture maker that lives in an Amish community about an hour away from us. We have had it about 10 years now and absolutely love it. In fact, everyone that has seen it loves it too.

Walking into our bedroom from the living room, there is a bookshelf sitting catty-cornered in the corner. Its shelves are almost full of books. Our tv and DVD sit on top of it.

The bookshelf.

Walking around the foot of the bed, there are two big windows, then a small desk sitting in the corner opposite the bookshelves. This desk was made by my daddy as a Christmas present for DH and I. The chair DH bought in a discount sale from the furniture company he works for.

Our desk and chair.
Beside our bed, we have an end table as our nightstand. It holds our throw blankets and a basket that holds our remotes and is a catchall of those misc items that seem to find their way onto our nightstand.

The only picture I could find of our nightstand.

Our bedroom isn't very big, but it is cozy and just right for us. It also provides a great, quiet place to rest from the busyness of life.

Enjoy our every minute of our life lived simply and the simple home we live in!
