Our Simple Home: Master Closet

Our closet is a nice size closet right off our bathroom. There is a place to hang a door but I opted out of putting one up. I liked the open feeling of the bathroom flowing into the closet. Also, having no door is a great incentive for keeping the closet tidy.

The wall opposite the opening has shelves and hanging racks for clothes. DH's side of the rack is on the left and mine is on the right. (Yes, I take up more space than he does.) The shelf right above the hanging clothes holds some of our shoes. I have my shoes contained in plastic shoe boxes. The very top shelf holds photos boxes and memory boxes. Underneath the hanging clothes are clothes baskets for our dirty laundry. One basket sits on top of some plastic storage shelves which contain some crafting supplies.

To the right of the opening is a wardrobe. It houses plastic storage drawers where most of our folded clothes are held, since we don't have room for a chest of drawers in our bedroom. In the wardrobe is a top shelf where we store bed linens and extra blankets. On top of the wardrobe is seasonal items like towels used for swimming and items used when we go on trips. Beside the wardrobe is a rack to hang my dresses. The closet has enough room that we have a small bench sitting against the wall opposite the wardrobe. It is a perfect spot to lay pj's and clothes we are going to wear again later.

Items stored on top of the wardrobe.

A well organized and tidy closet is just one of those simple things that make life a little less hectic. Living a simple organized life and enjoying every minute of it!
